The Ivation IVA-9175L has a maximum rating of 2,200 psi and a 1.8 gpm. This is afforded by its 14.5-amp, 1,600-watt corded motor.
This pressure washer sports a Total Stop System or TSS which means the machine starts only when you pull the trigger in the spray gun and stops as soon as you release. This is a great safety feature to have and makes it an ideal washer for gardening in place or a gardening hose as it will allow you to save more water.
The Ivation also includes a self-suctioning feature. It can pump water from a still source such as a wall, basin, or tank which will work from a water level of 1-1.5 meters.
Upon shipping, the Ivation IVA-9175L comes with 5 interchangeable nozzles (0-degree, 5-degree, 25-degree, 40-degree, and a Soap Nozzle), a gun handle, and 2 types of spray wands. There is also a built in soap dispenser and an onboard nozzle storage where you can store all the attachments.
The set up of the Ivation IVA-9175L is fairly easy. Apart from the 5 Nozzles and the User’s Manual, here is a list of the following parts & contents of the box as listed in the manual:
1. Spray Wand
2. Spray Gun Handle
3. High Pressure Hose
5. Power Cord
7. Power Switch
8. Input Water Filter
9. Water Input Hose (not included)
10. Turbo wand
11. Gun Plug Hole
12. Detergent Input
14. Onboard Nozzle Storage
Assembly of the Ivation IVA-9175L is explained with the use of pictures in a sticker on the side of the machine which I found very convenient. Basically, you need only to screw in all the essential attachments (hose, power cord, gun handle, and either of the two wand), plug it into an electrical outlet, press the reset button on the back bottom of the unit (the motor won’t start if you don’t), and just let loose. On attaching the hose to the gun handle, fit the hose into the hole in back of the gun and flip the switch under that hole and then the hose shall be securely attached. The hose by the way is a really sturdy piece of work.
Refer to the manual for any other concerns or questions. The manual itself is quit easy to understand and very concise. It composes of a section for assembly, safety precautions, operation, trouble shooting, and technical data. The Ivation User’s Manual is actually one of the most thorough I’ve seen so far.
The most helpful feature I found when beginning to use the Ivation IVA-9175L is that, where the nozzles are stored in the machine, there is a set of pictures defining what purpose each of the nozzles serve.
Concerning the two wands, the regular spray wand is for general cleaning but with the power of the turbo wand, you can write your own name on untreated wood. It’s a powerful enough machine to certainly do most of the cleaning required by your household but not much of anything else really. For example, It can’t clean the 2nd floor siding of your home or peel paint off of any surface. If you’re looking for more fire-power, a gasoline-powered pressure washer will probably be more suitable.
Despite this, it’s an extremely versatile pressure washer. The TSS function has to be my favorite function of all. The starting and stopping with the trigger of the gun handle makes cleaning quick and to the point. It’s a miracle for gardening as it gives you more control over the water unlike a regular garden hose.
Weighing in at only 13.3 kg and fitted with decent wheels, the Ivation is very mobile power washer and can be carried up and down the stairs with some ease. Be sure to use a low pressure nozzle to avoid damaging the plants.
The self-suction feature came in really handy when I wanted to water the plants on the farthest side of the garden. Using a big bucket of water, the Ivation pumped the water from the bucket and power sprayed it into the plants without a hitch. The problem however is that the water has to be 1.5 meters or higher for the suction to work. So to properly use the self-suction feature, you’ll need to carry around a BIG drum of water.
Refer to the Manual for a complete guide into the Ivation IVA-9175L’s maintenance requirements. Note that it is a very, VERY long list with a lot of things to remember. This is of course a usual with the electrically-powered pressure washers so don’t be too daunted about that.
The Ivation is undoubtedly a hidden gem of a pressure washer. It may not be the most powerful pressure washer out there, but it’s surprisingly one of the best for household cleaning purposes. The psi is still decent and it comes packed with enough features and accessories to tip the scales into its favor. If you want power, look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for an effective and efficient way to doing all your household and gardening chores, than the Ivation IVA-9175L is well worth its affordable price.
