Cons:

  • Pricier (Check price here)
  • Only offers 1-Year of Warranty
  • It is the 2nd heaviest Electrical Power Washer on this List

Our Review:

The ability to generate a whopping 2,200 psi – which is high for an electrical – definitely adds to this product’s appeal. The sheer amount of power that the product boasts despite being electrical warrants its price (which is still quit affordable). This will mean for a more efficient cleaning experience. Having only 1-year worth of warranty is concerning, but just a little. No Matter how reliable a product can be, warranty can offer a security for the part of the buyer and shows how much the brand is willing to own up to. Despite this, it is nice to know it comes with all the accessories one might want for a power washer – with the added bonus of the Turbo Wand.

The copper connectors are a thoughtful touch seeing as plastic one break all too easily which is a nightmare and seams to be a sickness spreading among the other pressure washers. Its comprehensive cleaning solution feature also saves you a considerable amount of time in needles tinkering to get the right pressure by customers who might not be as well-versed with the use of pressure washers.

Its safety features are a welcomed addition considering the fact that you’re working with highly pressurized water jetting out at 2,200 psi. However, nothing is made in this world that will take only 30 seconds to assemble and this product is no exception.

Conclusion:

The warranty offer is relatively small but I doubt you will run into much problem in the using of this product. In the end, the good out shines the bad here due to High PSI, Simple Operation, and Versatility. If you’re looking for the perfect marriage of quality and quantity in your power washer, this product will suit your just fine.

#2 Sun Joe SPX3000 Pressure Joe 2030

Product Highlights:

  • 14.5 amp Motor, 1.76 gpm, 2,030 psi
  • Includes 5 quick-connect Spray Tips (0-degree, 5-degree, 25-degree, 40-degree, and Soap Nozzle)
  • Features Safety Automatic Total Stop System (TSS)
  • Dual-Detergent Tanks
  • 2-Years Warranty

Pros:

  • Boasts the 2nd Highest PSI and GPM among the Electrical Washers on this list.
  • Built in Safety Measures in the form of the TSS
  • Dual-Detergent Tanks which helps tackle multiple cleaning tasks at the same time.
  • Full 2-Years Warranty
  • Complete Accessories

Cons:

  • The Connectors are made of Plastic
  • At 30 pounds, it is the Heaviest Electrical Power Washer on this List
  • User feedback have stated that some free parts are not given unless availed of

Our Review:

Sun Joe is a developer of outdoor outdoor tools so they do no a thing or two about heavy cleaning. With GSM and PSI to rival the Ivation, Sun Joe does well on its own in the area of power washing made available at home which is provided by the 14.5 amp Motor. The 2 year warranty is also a plus as it gives a certain sense of security. The Dual-Detergent Tanks are nice little niche feature to have but isn’t exactly a deal breaker when you consider all the other detergent tank offers in this list. The problem that faces this product is the compromises on quality they probably had to make for this product to become more affordable.

Having connectors made of brittle plastic and weighing far more than it probably needs to be are the factors that deprives this item of the top spot . The negative user feedback concerning the availability of the promised parts does nothing to remedy this as well. The only reason this washer doesn’t appear lower in our list is the fact that it still offers a more than decent PSI for an electrical power washer. Also like the Ivation, the Sun Joe SPX 3000 comes with TSS technology for added safety during use.

Conclusion:

Sun Joe SPX3000 seems to be a simple and reliable product that comes with all the basic parts you need for a smooth cleaning experience. It offers full 2-year warranty and offers a decent psi for a cheaper price. If it can stop making concessions on the quality of its washers to avoid any negative feedback in the future.

#3 Karcher K1700 Electric Power Pressure Washer

Product Highlights:

  • 1.2 gpm, 1,700 psi
  • Includes 3 Interchangeable Nozzles, 1 15-degree All-Purpose Nozzle, and a Detergent Nozzle
  • Large Removable Bin
  • Easy 5-Minute Set up – no tools needed
  • Heavy-duty Metal Frame and Multi-purpose Hoses
  • Removable Detergent Tank
  • 3-Year Limited Warranty and Rapid Exchange Program

Pros:

  • Durablility
  • Removable Detergent Tanks
  • Easy Set Up
  • Complete Accessories
  • With 3-Years of Warranty, it’s the Longest Warranty Coverage offered among the Electrical Power Washers in this list.

Cons:

  • Weaker PSI when compared to the first two items in this list
  • Questionable customer support quality

Our Review:

Where it lacks in PSI, it makes up for in Durability and stamina. They obviously focused on strength and continued usability rather that raw power in the making of this product which is refreshing. If you’re looking for a strong reliable product – not too exuberant – that will last you for years to come than this power washer is the power washer for you. This has to be one of the more well-off products in our list due to the equilibrium ratio it has with its cost and specs. Relatively cheap and easy to work, it boasts none of the glamour and style the other brands offer. It may have tried to compensate with the Removable Detergent Tank but, like Sun Joe’s Dual-Detergent Tank, it’s not exactly a must have, though it is nice to know that its there all the same. The 3-year warranty is also a nice little feature that adds a little to the feeling of security on the customer’s part.

Its’ kryptonite however, is that 1,700 psi might be that it’s a little weak against the PSI most power washers are going for. This is after all a list about pressure washers so any prospective purchaser of a new pressure washer will naturally look at the power of its pressure before anything else. PSI dictates the power of the washer to wash away any form of mess from any form of surface. This may deter some customers depending on their preferences as it might not be as effective as the others in terms of its power to clean. It would also do well to throw in a few freebies in its offer just as a little nudge.

Conclusion:

If you’re looking for a sturdy, reliable product for the least amount of money, this power washer is the one for you. However, due to weak water pressure, a lack of any true defining feature, or even free extra accessories, you just can’t expect it to do anything spectacular. Having said, its definitely a product to watch out for as it is quit a tried and tested brand and as such is always looking to make improvements.

#4 GreenWorks GPW1602 13amp

Product Highlights:

  • 13 amp Motor, 1.2 gpm, 1,600 psi
  • 20 foot High pressure hose
  • 35 foot Power Cord with inline GFCI
  • Includes Soap Applicator

Pros:

  • At only 17.5 pounds, it’s the Lightest Power Washer overall on this list
  • The Cheapest Option overall in this List

Cons:

  • Does not come with Accessories
  • Lacks in any form of competitive edge against other products

Our Review:

The main worry with this product is its over simplicity. This is what a pressure washer would look like if you stripped it of any defining feature and advantages. The lack of definite warranty, accompanying accessories, and weakness of its motor drags the item down far below it competitors. With no warranty, there is no actual promise that the product is replaceable in the case of malfunction. Coming with little to no accessories means the customer will have to go through the trouble of purchasing the needed parts separately.

Although the PSI is decent (though one of the weakest you’ll see) afforded by its Brushless Motor and the price is low which might be tempting, its still not enough to save it from the abyss of contingent options. It is however, very light and thus quit portable which tends to be a feature that is overlooked by most manufactures. The compact nature of its build makes it save on storage space.

Conclusion:

This product will serve you well enough if you’re a casual buyer looking for a casual product do do some casual cleaning. It offers no real edge against its competitors. If it can maintain its better qualities and do a serious upgrade at the same time then this power washer might just work then. If you wish to own a power washer and a power washer alone, this washer is as bare as it gets.

Best Gasoline Power Washers

#1 SIMPSON Cleaning MSH3125-S

Product Highlights:

  • 3100 psi, 2.5 gpm
  • OEM Technologies Axial Cam Pump
  • 1/4-Inch x 25-Foot MorFlex High pressure Hose
  • M22 connectors
  • Comes with 5 different nozzle tips (0-degee, 15-degree, 25-degree, 40-degree and Soap Nozzle)
  • Professional Spray Gun with a safety lock-out
  • Powerful HONDA GC190 engine

Pros:

  • Offers the Highest PSI per GPM overall in this list
  • Honda GC190 Engine
  • Welded Steel Construction and 10 inch pneumatic tires
  • M22 Connectors offer seamless fit every time
  • Quickly eliminate the mess on any cleaning surface
  • Complete set of accessories

Cons:

  • The Priciest Power Washer over all in this list
  • Weighs a whopping 65 pounds making it the Heaviest Power Washer overall in this list

Our Review:

The pressure washer is of a premium grade. Easily one of the best power washers you can acquire for yourself. It places first in the aspects of raw cleaning power, durability, and reliability of the brand. The Honda GC190 engine allows for an overwhelming 3,100 psi which means no form of dirt or grime is safe under its spray and can even reach 2nd story heights to clean windows. The the metal frame give it a certain toughness and grit that doesn’t disappoint. This washer is unmatched in its ability to rid almost any surface of mess. The incorporation of pneumatic wheels makes mobility easy enough but with a weight of 65 pounds, carrying it will take some serious back work. Its connectors however are a godsend. Too many power washers experience problems with leakages and ill-fitting connectors, so the M22s are a welcome addition.

On thing to consider before purchase is that its the priciest item on our list. This may deter some customers, especially since there are many other – more affordable – choices of power washers that offer decent PSI. There is also the argument of whether or not an average person, just looking for an efficient way to clean, would really need that much fire power when it would most likely be used to perform basic household chores.

It is a product that will require some caution when using since the sheer velocity being sprayed can clean the flesh from your bone and send any debris that break of the surface that is being cleaned flying out at the same velocity. The pressure can even tear up tarmac if pointed at directly. With 2.5 gpm, its water consumption is massive which might reflect on your monthly bills. The same may ring true with the amount of gas you would need to sustain its powerful engine and keep the machine running smoothly.

Conclusion:

If you’re a casual buyer looking for a casual product then steer clear of this product. It probably out of your price range and too powerful for casual use. But if money is no object, and you’re looking for something with a roaring engine, unbridled power, and unmatched in its capability to clean ANYTHING, the this product is the natural first choice for you.

#2 Generac 6922

Product Highlights:

  • 2,800 psi, 2.4 gpm
  • Integrated 10-inch gallon (?) detergent tank
  • 10” never-flat wheels
  • Quick change nozzle tips 4 included (0-degree, 25-degree, 40-degree, soap)

Pros:

  • Close rival to the SIMPSON Cleaning MSH3125-S in terms of PSI and quality
  • Integrated detergent tank
  • never-flat wheels
  • Complete Accessories

Cons:

  • Imbalance of PSI and GPM (lots of water for not as much power)
  • Poor Customer Support

Review:

A cheaper alternative to the SIMPSON Cleaning MSH3125-S, the market for the Generac 6922 is one where cleaning on the industrial level is made available for use in your home for a lot less money. The PSI makes it more than effective in it cleaning that it’s well worth the money. Because of the horizontal-shaft engine, the Generac power washer has an easily accessible pump well above the ground, so you don’t have to kneel down to make hose connections. It comes complete with all the needed accessories and even boasts a -inch gallon detergent tank helps greatly for spring cleaning and some 10″ never-flat wheels for greater mobility.

The downside with this product however is the lack of any form of warranty and customer support that will take forever to get back to you with any of your concerns will give such frustration as only running around in circles can match. Having average customer support means your own your own when any problems that arise with the machine. There is also a visible imbalance of PSI vs GPM. Both the Generac 6922 and the SIMPSON Cleaning MSH3125-S consume the same amount of GPM and yet SIMPSON yields 3,100 psi against Generac’s 2,800 though this is not to say that 2,800 psi is weak. This may be due to the difference in engine as few things can match the power of the Honda GC190.

Through testing, we can conclude that it is incapable of being effective for more than 5 feet. Maintenance is also a completely other matter as the pump oil is purchased separately.

Click to get best price

Conclusion:

Despite the weaker PSI per GPM, the Generac would have nabbed 1st place if it had only cared more for its own image and the experience of its customers.  A comprehensive customer support system will come a long way in terms of brand image and will show how much the brand actually cares. Despite this, the Generac 6922 offers quality performance for a great price.

#3 Briggs & Stratton 20545

Product Info:

  • 2,200 psi, 1.9 gpm
  • 550e Series 140cc Engine
  • Detergent injection system
  • 2-year limited warranty
  • Includes 3 Quick-connect spray tips
  • 10” never-flat wheels

Pros:

  • Quality Engine
  • 10” never-flat wheels
  • Comes with a 2-year limited warranty
  • Can be used for outdoor cleaning projects

Cons:

  • Only gives 3 Quick-connect spray tips
  • Pressure Washer hose should be thicker

Review:

With a decent, – albeit slightly weak for a gas pressure washer – PSI, this power washer won’t disappoint if chosen but it won’t offer any edge as oppose to the others gas pressure washers in the market, though it does the job just fine. The wheels are sturdy enough and the engine reliable but 2,200 psi seems to be the maximum it can reach even with a powerful 550e Series 140cc Engine . Nevertheless what we have here is a decent washer that offers great value for every penny spent. It also offers 2 years limited warranty so should anything go wrong (not saying that it would), you can easily nip it in the bug. The detergent injection system will come in handy for cleaning day I’m sure.

For a gas pressure washer, the PSI lags behind its competition which is what lead to its being placed as third on this list. What’s more concerning though is not that it’s weaker than its competition, but that it comes with only 3 nozzles. The standard even among the lesser known choices is 5, usually 0-degree, 5-degree, 25-degree, 4-degree, and a Soap Nozzle. There is also the problem of its hose being infamously weak and prone to breakage. The hose functioned as it should during our testing, but online reviews say it is easily pierced and can’t seem to last for more than a few uses which can be irritating. You can always just buy your own hose but of course the point is that you shouldn’t be going through the trouble in the first place. This is a small annoyance when deciding on whether or not to purchase the item but the product will still deliver on its promise on effective cleaning.

Click to get best price

Conclusion:

If they can swap the hose with something more durable and include more accessories in their product offer then buying it will become an easy decision. This may seam like minor grievances but convenience is a privilege that’s take for granted. Also, if it can make a product with higher PSI and still maintain it affordability then this product will become a serious contender. Apart from that, It’s a decent powered washer that is quit easy to use and comes with enough specs to complete the job just fine.

#4 Powerstroke PS80519B

Product Info:

  • 2,200 psi, 2.0 gpm
  • Ultra compact frame and powerful 140cc motor
  • Aluminum axial cam pump
  • Comes with 25 and 40-degree fan nozzles, soap nozzle, and 21-inch chrome plated spray wand

Pros:

  • Same PSI and GPM as the Briggs & Stratton 20545
  • Relatively Complete Accessories
  • Compact frame
  • Inexpensive compared to other Gas Power Washers

Cons:

  • Poor Customer Support
  • Bad Rep amongst other buyers: some Amazon buyers claim company refuses to honor 1 year warranty

Review:

Decent PSI and a compact frame is not enough to save this product from the obscurity it has brought on itself. Poor customer support, no warranty, no remarkable features, and reports of malfunctioning after first few uses all play a part in leaving a bad impression for any prospective buyers. It is as if the makers of the Powerstroke PS80519B refuse to read reviews and believe their product is the best there is. Even with aluminum pumps and chrome plated wands, the psi (equal to that of the Briggs & Stratton 20545) offered is still quit weak for what may be expected out of a gas pressure washer.

If there is anything that might be going in this product’s favor is in the sleekness of it design which is a feature that many makers of pressure washers tend to overlook. Storage space is something that is becoming increasingly scarce and thus it would be nice see these products take more consideration as to their size. It comes complete with all the needed accessories, that is if the accessories come in the first place as there are reports of it arriving with missing part.

This is also a very bare product. There are no extra detergent tanks or high powered engine here, just a normal gas-powered pressure washer. The PSI way be a redeeming quality as it equal to that of the Briggs & Stratton but it really isn’t enough to turn the tides in it own favor. Hopefully it will learn from its mistakes and improve in the future.

Click to get best price

Conclusion:

Almost lack of good customer support will mean that this product will probably cost you more than what you bargained for. If anything goes wrong or if something breaks, chances are you’re on your own. It really needs to overhaul it production and return to the drawing board if it has any chance of surviving at the face of its competition. It may retain its compact build but if it wishes to leave a better impression then it must begin with making better offers and arranging for more helpful customer support.

Some Reminders

It is helpful to always read the reviews before buying a pressure washers. These are powerful and complex machines with a myriad of things that things that can go wrong so do not rush and take the time to read the reactions of people who actually bought the product. Understand how they work, the differences between the types of pressure washers, how to avoid injury when using them, and what will most likely work best for the cleaning needs of your household. Take into account things like PSI and GPM for they will dictate the products true worth since these are the factors weigh heavy on your personal expenses. Review the warranty offer and term and conditions before and after purchase so that you understand the limitations of the product and what the manufacturer’s are willing to honor. Allowing yourself time to review, research, and ponder will minimize any mistakes in purchase or in use of the pressure washer.

The purpose of this list is to offer a concise and informative review on the best power washer. Much time and research was put into the formation of this article and as such can be read with a certain amount of confidence. The opinions expressed are based on comparative info, user consensus, and consideration of the specification of each product.

A pressure washer is considered potentially dangerous tool and thus must be treated accordingly. Read the safety reminders in its entirety and be sure to wear protective gloves and footwear during use. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Gas-powered pressure washers are not suitable for cleaning indoors as they emit fumes. Be mindful that you do not wet any electrical appliances and electrical outlets. Allow the machine to cool down after use before storing.

About Power Washers

Pressure or power washing – invented by Alfred Karcher – is the using of highly pressurized water jetting out at high velocity to get rid of loose paint, grime, mold, dust, chewing gum, and dirt from the surfaces of houses, cars and cement. Power washers, either they’re powered by electric motors or gas engines, run through a pump that pressurizes the water from a hose to 1,000 lbs. and more, then forces it out through a spray wand. The higher the pressure delivered (measured in pounds per square inch or psi), the tougher the cleaning jobs they can tackle. Its efficiency in getting rid of unruly dirt and grime has made it a must have when I comes to industrial cleaning and can do wonders for the maintenance and upkeep of your home. No form of dirt is safe once you have the full power of pressurized water in the palm of your hands.

Most washers are either electric or gas powered. Electrically powered washers plug into a normal electrical outlet, supplied with typical water, and usually give pressure that can reach up to 2,000 psi but there are products that can boast higher. Gas washers can give twice that pressure and some models can even heat up the water, which can be ideal for removing oil and grease.

Gas powered washers can offer more power per gallon of water than electric powered ones, are more portable, and are usually made from solid, more durable materials letting them last longer and less prone to damage. On the down side, they are more costly than electrical washers and cost more to maintain, are heavier, and emit fumes which means you really must not operate a gas pressure washer in-doors or in other enclosed structures. If you happen experience any form of dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea or irregular breathing, turn off the pressure washer, inhale some fresh air outside and try seek some medical attention.

There are a lot different kinds of nozzles that are available for different situations. There are nozzles that can create a water jet that is in a fan pattern, while others can emit a thin jet of water that spirals around rapidly in a cone shaped pattern. Nozzles that allow for a grater flow rate will reduce the output pressure. At very high pressures, water is used in many industrial cleaning which requires the cleaning of surface layers and for dustless cutting of metals and concrete.

Washers are dangerous tools to have and should be used with due caution and knowledge of the safety instructions. The water pressure near the tip is quit powerful it can tear flesh away from bone. Particles and debris in the water are sprayed out from the nozzle at high speeds and cleaning can propel objects broken off from the surface that is being cleaned, also at great velocities.

Take your time to review all the specs of each product and compare accordingly. Take into terms factors such as PSI and GPM. A higher PSI will mean more power and thus faster, cleaner results. GPM refers to the amount of gallons the power washer might use per minute, and Amp states it electrical consumption. All are important to consider as they may define the expenses you may incur using power washers. Below are some of the most commonly used terms that one may encounter when going over the product description of a power washer:

Key Terms

  • GPM – Gallons per Minute
GPM is a measure of water flow rate. This is the amount of water that flows through the pressure washer. A higher GPM gives you more washing ability, but it also means you have to use more water.
  • LPM – Liters per Minute – a variation of GPM
  • PSI – Pounds per Square Inch
PSI is a measure of the pressure outputted by the power washer. The higher the pressure the faster the water flows out of the nozzle, and thus the more “power” it has.
  • Amp – Ampere
Amps are a measure of current, or the amount of electricity, consumed by the washer.
